Flustered

*sigh* tonight was a frustrsting night.

I ended up in the same two table section that I was last night: two tables and a large party table I have to share.  My service partner is one of the newer members of our team, he's very... confident in himself and seems to have a rather large ego.  Our only party we had together at that large tabe he tried to introduce me as his side kick- as someone under or lower or less experienced than him.  That was the second thing that irritated me tonight, as I don't particularly care for waiting on large parties of elderly people who don't / can't afford to tip.

I always prebuss my tables! Always. Though the one time tonight when I started to get in the weeds a host and a manager came up to me and told me to buss my tables because one of our asshole bussers refuses to touch the table and do his damn job unless all the plates are cleared! (To clarify, not all of our bussers are assholes, just this one in particular.)  I had just bussed the ten top table, got sat and was getting drinks for another table, and had a tray full of dishes waiting to go back to the dish pit.  I don't have that many arms or the strength to carry all those plates back at once, so yeah, I had to make two trips, I'm terribly sorry I couldnt meet your stupid standards.

Oh, and guys, playing with my money is for me to do, on my time, not for my managers and the hosts or my service partner. Normaly, in the section I was in tonight with the large party table, when that table is sat with anything less than a eight top the two that share that table is rotated between the two sharing the table. So first my partner will get the four top, then I would get the next less than eight top.  Well, the other night one of my fellow servers had the idea that we split everything that is sat at that table because we share the table and we don't know how many people will come in that night and niether one of us wanted only a two table section.  Well guess what!? My service partner took a four top at our party table and refused to split it with me, and no one else was sat there before I was cut tonight.  So essentialy I lost five to ten dollars because of that.

To complete my night I had to do my service partners closing work too, he left without completing it in our shared party table. *grrr* I'm so annyed by how tonight went down. Tomorrow night I have a closing shift. I hope it goes much better than tonight.

ready, set, run!

Low key night. That was nice.... till we got a push! Night started off with a two table section, then we got that push and ended up with four to five table section. Go go go! Manager wants no false wait, so if your table is open you're getting sat. It got busy for a moment, I was surprised at how understanding most of my guests were, and how much I made! I broke two of my pens, but that's about all I've got to complaine about after tonights shift.

To make it better: movie night with my hubby and snuggling my puppy!

Painfully Slow

Monday morning bar shift... need I say more?

The first hour of my shift consisted of conversations with my coworkers about Bieber's arrest, restocking, and fooling around. Then, finally, I got a table: two sweet older ladies celebrating a bithday. I got to take my time writing out "Happy Birthday" on a plate with raspberry and chocolate sauce.... made her day!

So twenty minutes after they left I appealed to my manager to moveme in to a real section. Which they did, thank god.

After a four top of ladies getting only soup, salad, and never ending breadsticks, and a couple of two top couples the managers decided it was just to slow. I was cut along with all of my fellow single shift workers, and they still had too many tables open.

Needless to say, I did not make very much today.

To make things better: A walk on the beach, watching the sunset with the love of my life.
